Wednesday, July 1, 2026 — Passo del Tonale, Val di Sole
The athletes were back at Passo del Tonale on Wednesday, this time facing the week’s first true test of endurance: the Long Distance. With the same breathtaking high-altitude backdrop as the day before, the mood on the start line was noticeably more serious — everyone knew what was coming.
Stage 2 pushed competitors across longer route legs through the same grassy, rock-strewn high terrain, demanding sustained concentration over a much greater distance. Fatigue from the previous day’s effort made every climb and every navigational decision count that much more.
In the Elite Men’s race, Tobias Alstad (Norway) delivered a commanding performance to take the win, grinding out the long course with remarkable consistency. Filip Ossiansson (Sweden) held on for second, with Ioan Iacob (Romania) completing the men’s podium.
On the women’s side, Alva Björk (Sweden) claimed victory with a strong, evenly-paced run from start to finish. Kristýna Matyášová (Czech Republic) crossed second, while Elsa Kaipe (Sweden) rounded out the podium.
As the event reaches its midpoint, the focus now shifts to Lago dei Caprioli, where two consecutive Middle Distance stages await over the coming days.
